Solved Licence expiration - version result?

Last year we took advantage of the free licence 16-sim-calls version (v.15.x) that 3CX offered (promo scheme for existing customers), and we are currently running 15.5.0 (no further updates are indicated, despite v.16.x now being available to download).

That licence is due to expire soon and I wanted to check what occurs when this happens - (if it was a free licence, why is it now going to expire?)

1. Info on the pricing pages seems to indicate the system will revert to a lower-level of capability (certain features will disable). There are 2 different FREE editions (4 calls or 8 calls) - but which of these does the system downgrade to, if either of them?
2. It's not clear (to me - perhaps I'm being dim) if the free licence version that 3CX gave away last year renews under the normal purchasing scheme.

We've not really made use of the conf-call feature (or web interface), and the 8-sim-calls free version probably covers our modest small-office needs.

Thanks, but your first link is my own question. So one other person asked, a year ago... and while related to the topic of downgrading, it doesn't ask quite the same thing as the 3CX offerings have changed since then. In particular, there are now 2 different "FREE" editions, one with 4 simultaneous calls and another with 8. So we don't know which version will result.

Side-comment: Apart from confusing the downgrade path scenario, I don't know why 3CX still offer the 4-call option when 8 is also available (even if many users wouldn't require 8).

Hi Alec,

When your license expires it will downgrade to the free edition according to which version you run:

V15 = when downgraded to free will have 4SC
V16 = when downgraded to free will have 8SC (for V16 only)
