Solved License Activation Failed

I've been having troubles getting my 3CX server activated. It is installed on a Hyper-V virtual machine (Windows Server 2016), running all latest software updates.
DNS is set to 8.8.8.8, firewall is disabled, antivirus is disabled, DPI on Fortigate firewall is disabled
NSLOOKUP activation.3cx.com resolves to 151.80.125.88
NSLOOKUP erp.3cx.com creates a DNS time-out, don't know if this is in use anymore.
All services have been restarted, DNS cache has been flushed.
I still get this message:

License Activation Failed
"License Activation Server cannot be reached.
Check your network and DNS settings.
What more can I do to fix this? I would very much like to try 3CX and buy a full version eventually, but these activation troubles are annoying.

Thanks GiannosC for your help yesterday.
For anyone using a Fortigate firewall with software version 5.6: You have to temporary shut down SSL inspection to make the activation work. If DPI is disabled, Fortigate still does certificate inspection which is causing the trouble.
