I have a couple of instances that are upgraded from V18 to V20 and now are listed as Standard Annual. 4SC

They are due to expire on 7/2.

I am confused about the migration. How to I get the proper license for V20 that will not expire on 7/2?

All are self hosted on DO.

Thanks

What licence do you have before? If its the free licence, than everything is ok. Just a reminder that the free licence supend at the end of the year.

The ones I have not migrated to V20 show "Standard Annual 4SC. I did not pay attention to the license prior to the migration.

Again.... What kind of licence do you have? If it is the free one, everything is ok.

The free edition will probably be fine for a couple of them. They only have 3 or 4 extensions.

Is the process to get the free edition the one where I create a new account and then transfer ownership?

Why not create the account with the credentials from the final user? Just an reminder... the "new" free edition" is just hosted an with a lot restrictions.

Is it limited to hosting only at 3CX or can it be hosted at DO. That's where we host all of our customers. The only thing I will really miss it the call history

Its limited to hosted by 3cx only. The new free pbx is called 3CX Free SMB. Check the limitations, its not really usable for more than one user.

Thanks for the help. Seems like the Pro version is about a cheap as I can get.

So indeed, Free has its limitation, and you don't have access to all the system but only your team you add.
Let us know if any other question, or we could close this thread.

My problem seems to be slightly different. I have a FREE 3CX Standard (v18) 4SC key installed. I received an email on 27 May 2024 stating that my 4SC is going to expire 02 July. The email further stated that all I needed to do to keep my current setup was to upgrade to V20.
The 3CX site suggests that v20 is only supported on systems such as AWS, so now I have v20 up and running on AWS but now the license type is a TRIAL Professional Annual 4SC expiring in 61 days.
Attempts to replace the new key with my old 3CX Standard key fail with the following error - "The installed license key cannot be replaced with this key because the key is disabled or has already been replaced. Contact your Partner."

This is a different problem... where did you get the information 3cx works only on AWS on stuff like this. That's wrong. Did you deleted your free key?

Thank you so much for your quick response!! I may have been going cross-eyed.

At https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/install/ it says among other things,
I don't have access to my new landlord's network, leaving me with the private cloud option. The AWS install was fairly easy to implement and is up and running.

Attempts to manage the license key met with an error:
3CX failed to establish a TCP connection to activate.3cx.com. Ensure that the local or border firewalls are configured to allow outbound traffic to activate.3cx.com

The free system was deleted but I have the license key recorded. The free system is still running on its old host.

Thank you so much for your quick response!! What I saw is that it was *supported* on those platforms. I figured might be a play on words and spent some time digging and have found distros for Win and debian - which I have not tried yet. The AWS install was fairly easy to implement and is up and running.

You can install it anywhere you want. If you deleted the key in your customer portal, than it's gone.

Thank you once more for your reply. Certainly not the news I was hoping for. I do so hope that 3CX gets wind of my dilemma and is willing to work with me to resolve. Sadly the very size of the installed customer base may work against me.
Living in hope.
Thanks again !!
