Linksys SPA-3102 with dynamic IP

I saw the wiki page instruction me to give the gateway a static IP.
I would like to know will that device work with dynamic IP as I am not able to assign an static IP to that device.
The communication between the gateway and the server is over the internet.

You would have to give the device a fixed private IP behind a router that is using a dynamic DNS service, like DYNDNS.COM. With a gateway 3Cx wants the IP of the device, assuming it is on the same LAN, so you need to put in the dynamic dns info there. Many routers have a place to make use of a service such as that, then you don't have to have a fixed public IP. You may run into some problems if you are trying to bring a remote trunk into the 3CX. I have tried, but not too hard (just not enough time or a pressing demand to spend time troubleshooting it right now). Managed to get it (sort of) working to a point, maybe, sometimes. It has issues.

It should work, in theory.
