Hi Guys,

Sorry for no update on this. I'm working with 3CX to try and get the issues resolved. I'll update you with the outcome and what we did to fix it as soon as I havean answer.

Thanks,
Daiablo

Hi guys,

Just to give you an update it's still not working. 3CX have suggested that everything is configured correctly and they have pointed me towards Linksys/Cisco. The current state of play is this:

I have configured it as per the 3CX guidelines and it registers correctly in the 3CX trunk status screen.
I can make outgoing calls without any problems.
The SPA3102 rings and the status page of the web interface recognises it is ringing but nothing happens to the call.

What I've tried:

Changing the port on both the SPA3102 and the PSTN device settings in the 3CX system to 5060, 5061 and 5062.
Changing the PSTN answer delay to 0,1 and 2.
Adding the port number to the end of the proxy field i.e. 192.168.150.8:5061 and without the port number
Completely disabling the firewall on the server

Observations:

If I run NETSTAT -AN port 5062 is not open or listening on the network connections:

If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions I would be more than willing to try them.

Many Thanks,
Daiablo

Daiablo, Leejor; few days a go i a post a same problem. I cant fix them but a have same news.

With the line connected direct to Phone company (Telecom of Argentina here) the config. 3CX gateway works fine but when connect a ext form my Avaya IP office 500 the browser in the 3102 show "ringing" always when a call arrives in the line, never go to the VOIP interface. Leejor tell my about levels and frecuency but i cant found the rights parameters; today put a osciloscope over the avaya port and take same values. The syslog not show any lines to help.

Thanks,

This is one link to the Administration guide for the SPA3102, a must read, front to back, for anyone attempting to set one up. It's a shame they don't include one with every unit, but given the size, it's understandable. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.steel/voip/SPA_Admn_3102.pdf

Seems a common problem, I wonder what the solution is. leejor mentions his setup as per 3CX instructions, I followed the same ones buy no joy. Outbound is fine, inbound rings the spa3102, but doesn't even touch the 3cx.

The SPA-3000 just seemed to work. I'll triple and quadruple check the settings!

If the incoming is working fine on a regular POTS line but NOT on a line from a PBX then i would suspect that it may be because of the line voltage. Some PBX's put out 24 VDC as opposed to 48 to 51 VDC on a POTS line. If it is 24 volts the you will need to tweak the settings in the 3102. In PSTN>International Control>Line-In-Use Voltage, reduce the setting from the default of 40 to something under what the line voltage actually is, like 20.

35 vcc on my avaya; realy a touch every parameters in the pstn-international.

Teco and Avaya have a same values, 35vcc, 25hz senoid on the ring state, only different is the amplitude of the ring: 85vca avaya vs. 100vca Teco.
And the cisco - Ayaya no have any data about this

attach the 3102 config to see if you like.

Thanks a lot

There is obviously a difference in the ring output from one line to the other, whether or not adjusting the International Control settings on the 3102 is going to allow it to "see" the ring from the Avaya...i don't know, you will have to try, or just wait to see if someone using an Avaya has found a solution, perhaps in that "other" forum.

From the web, the stats on the Avaya state:

Analog Phone Ports

* RJ45 sockets
* CLI Schemes: DTMFA, DTMFC, DTMFD, FSK and UK20
* REN: 2 (External Bell via POT port: REN = 1)
* Off Hook Current: 25mA
* Ring Voltage: 40V (nominal) RMS

Normal POTS ring voltage, that I've dealt with, is about 90 VAC, give or take about 10 volts, so , if it is in fact only 40 volts, then that could be the problem.

Here is a line to a site that goes into some detail about ringing, probably more that you'd want to know...
http://www.sandman.com/ringvoltbul.html

It seems like the fault isolation has been to ringing voltage, despite the spa-3102 recognising the ring and updating it's status accordingly.

Please someone solve this for the UK! 8) I bought 2 x spa-3102, and they're useless to me without this functionality. As a side note, I bought a Siemens IP Dect phone that connected as a SIP phone, and can use its locale PSTN line interchangeably. This solution cost only £50, that's the price of the SPA-3102 alone, excluding the IP Handset!

If 3CX can't crack this one, I expect it may very well be a locale-specific thing!

I'm in the UK.

I'm sure you aren't the first person to try to use a 3102 in the UK. There are probably a number of forums that have examples of UK settings available, if you've tried all of that then you might have to consider you have a faulty unit.

However... before you do anything drastic, like throw it under a train, I would do a factory reset and start from square one. Record all of your current settings first. Did you download and read the manual? After doing that, try getting an incoming FXO call to ring a set plugged into the FXS port, it should do this by default. You don't even have to have the LAN plugged in at this point. Then put in the basic settings to get the FXO working. Worry about passwords and regional tones later, although you may need to change the FXO port impedance, voltage etc, this is where other peoples experience (and settings) will come in handy.

Like this...http://forum.voxilla.com/linksys-sipura-voip-support-forum/set-up-linksys-spa3102-voip-router-ata-bt-uk-26120.html

You might want to do a print out of each "Tab" and then mark the changes you've made in pencil. If you get to the point where it does work, then mark any changes beyond that in red pencil and put the date and time beside them so you know the order. If you reach a point where it fails again, then go back and remove changes until it works again.
