I installed a 3CX trial a week ago and at the time there were something like a dozen SIP trunk updates pending. I ignored them at the time. Earlier this week I noticed no SIP updates were pending, and today it shows two SIP trunk updates. "Automatically update 3CX" is unchecked. Is there a way to find out if these updates were actually installed, and when? /var/log/apt/history.log(.1.gz) last entry is May 30, the day I first installed it.

Hi Steve,

Is it a 3CX-hosted free instance?

It is not 3CX hosted, we have it on a VM in our data center. Today it is not showing the two SIP updates...shows no updates available. The only event log entry between Friday and today (Monday) is "Database maintenance task has been finished."

Ok so those updates will not download automatically if you don't tick the option to do so. The updated downloads do not appear on the log unfortunately.

One possibility is if you install a service pack (i.e From V16 to V16 SP1) then your updates list will show only the templates that apply to that version.

It's strange, I know. I haven't installed any updates since the initial install May 30.

Perhaps someone can suggest an update log in the Ideas forum? (I didn't see one in a search...) That seems like a handy, common feature especially for self-updating software.

I noticed there were trunk updates pending Friday so I saved a screen cap:
11182
Today only the beta is pending and there are no trunk updates.

Are you alone connected to MC, if not , perhaps someone else manually applies the pending updates ?
Otherwise this is unwanted behavior 3CX need to investigate further to understand why updates are applying alone

No one else would be applying updates. The only person I can think of who would, asked me how to log in to the 3CX admin panel yesterday. If only there was a log... Without that I am not sure how 3CX would even be able to investigate? It just seems strange that a system that many businesses would consider "mission critical" doesn't have a log for when automatic or manual updates (or even perhaps manual settings changes) were applies.

Just now I checked the box to automatically apply updates, saved, that, unchecked the box and saved it again. I guess we can see if it makes a difference when the next SIP trunk and/or software updates are issued.

To update my original post, we did complete partner registration and have been on an Enterprise license for a few weeks, including this past weekend.

Hi Steve,
You are right, nothing is logged for now to keep a following list of done actions on 3CX or who do settings changes

Friday at 7:15 am CDT we received an "A new Update is available" email, and the updates page shows "New 16.0 Update 2 Release." Are we supposed to receive emails for product updates but not SIP trunk updates? Or did something change when I set/unset the automatic updates option?

Yes perhaps your action has refreshed 3CX settings and now notifications email are coming like they should, wait until next one to see if everything is fine.

Nope, that's normal. You don't get email notifications for SIP trunks, template updates, etc. Only for 3CX version updates.

That makes sense. However, then it remains a mystery why the 15 or so SIP updates no longer show on the updates page.

That I can't explain unless there was a version update. For example if it showed a SP and some trunk or template updates and you update the SP those templates may be included in the SP so they would disappear.

So just for posterity I've seen other SIP trunk updates get installed over weekends. It appears those do get installed at the scheduled time, even if "Automatically update 3CX" is unchecked, and it is only program updates that are held.
