Hello

We have a Paxton Access Control gate and intercom which rings a SIP extension when someone's at the door.
I'd like the SIP server to wait a couple of seconds before ringing the extensions, so that on-prem people can respond via the intercom before the call gets pushed to all the extensions.

I tried creating a Dummy extension and setting its forwarding rules and timeout value, but this fails as this is not a registered extension and defaults to the "If I am busy or my phone is unregistered, forward calls to..." option.

Is there another way to set up a delay on the call? A global setting is fine as well, since this 3CX instance is used only for this purpose.
Or maybe there is a way to fake-register the extension so that it takes the timeout into account?

Curious how you guys would solve this.
Thanks for the ideas
Kind regards

CFD could do that with a simple C# delay and send the call back to the ring group or extension.

Thanks for you answer. I see, I didn't know this existed.
Only issue, I'm using a Standard Free License and don't expect to upgrade as this is for single home-use.

Do you see any other possibility?

Not really. The only one I see is getting a cheap android phone or IP phone and register the dummy ext on it. This way it follows the regular Available forwarding rules.

And yeah, CFD doesn't show up if not licensed. A Pro 4SC is relatively cheap tho and gives other features like Reports, queues and call recording, which can be useful depending on your needs.

Why not pump it to a IVR with a blank prompt and use the "no option chose in x seconds forward to"
