I am trying to login to my 3cx Management Console page, after entering credentials it just says "Server Error". I have tried logging in from different IP addresses in case black listed.

My desktop phones are all working as normal - so it seems 3CX is still working in the background.

I'm hosting on Microsoft Azure which did have a major outage in UK South yesterday afternoon from around 2pm till early this morning.

Any advice / ideas please ?

Thanks

There seems to be a service not running, a Windows install you can login to Windows and check the services. Reboot of server may not fix, as sometimes a reboot will not start services that were not running.

Hi, thanks for the reply... .sorry its a Linux (debian 9.12) install

In that case you will need to SSH into the server, using Putty or other SSH client and restart not running services. As this should only be done by someone that knows linux commands.

Hi, thanks. We have no real experience with Linux so we'll need search the forums to see if there is any guidance on doing this

Hi Grant,

You can try to reboot the machine, hopefully it will recover.

Otherwise you need to SSH in, see if all 3CX Services are running and if not, try to run sudo 3CXStopServices to stop any remaining services, then sudo 3CXStartServices and note whether they all start or if there are any that produce errors.

In case the outage you mentioned has somehow caused corruption, you may be better off taking the most recent backup and redeploying (as a last resort)

Hi John, many thanks. Any guides on restoring from a backup on Linux ?

It's the same procedure as installing fresh. The main difference is that on step 2 of the First Time Configuration Wizard you select the option to restore from backup https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/configuring-your-pbx/#h.y1omelktxfrn

If also need instructions on how to deploy a new Azure machine check here after you delete your existing one: https://www.3cx.com/docs/pbx-azure-marketplace/

Make sure you definitely have a good backup stored somewhere else (not on the machine you will delete) as you will need this for a successful restoration.

To reiterate from before, keep this as a last resort option, obviously if you can recover the existing machine this will not be necessary

Hi John,

I managed to get this sorted by just restarting 3CXPhoneSystemMC01.service

I found that within MS Azure, Virtual Machine, there is an option to "Run Command", then "Execute a Linux shell script". Seemed quicker and easier than using PUTTY.

I ran "systemctl list-units --type=service --state=failed –all" to find the failed script

Then "sudo systemctl start 3CXPhoneSystemMC01.service" to restart it.

Thanks for your help.
