Trying to add additional extension to Yealink T46s and T48S phones. The first lines were auto-configured, then I have removed the auto configure link since it wipes any custom settings after reboots and 24 hour it just re-provisions. I do not like that so I removed that from phones after initial configureation.

Problem:

Trying to add an extension to a secretary phone. I am new to 3cx. if the boss' phone rings, want her to be able to pickup. Every other phone system just works to add boss' extension to a phone. When I try to manually add, I get registration fail. I have looked online and I am sure there are links somewhere for this but how frustrating. Yesterday I got one phone to register one extension manually - why did that work, but trying to add another just failed.. after I deleted the one I got working it now says registration failed if I try to add again.. what is going on?

  1. Phones were originally auto-provisioned one ext per phone
  2. Try to add boss' extension (as 2nd sip line) manually to secretary yealink phone and registration fails
  3. Have unchecked option to disallow extension to be used outside lan just in case.
  4. Factory wiped phone and tried to just set up manually, but cannot even do that once phone is auto-provisioned.
  5. got one extension to manually work somehow during testing, but now nothing

What is the best way to have the boss' phone ring on the secretary phone for internal and external calls? Crazy this does not work.

Sorry I am new to 3cx. Hopefully there is a check box or something easy I am missing as I have wasted tons of time on this...

Thank you!

Another option, but the reception phone will not ring setup BLF key.for the boss extension, The light will change to red on an incoming call and you can press the key to pickup the call if permissions allow.

Sorry I did not post everything.

Standalone windows server on-prem. Local connection on same subnet for phones. No blacklists. yealink T46s and T48s - both phones will not allow manual config. I copied and pasted the settings from the provisioned phone extnesion as well. same thing...although to be fair I cannot copy the password, I need to copy/paste that from the 3cx GUI. 3cx version 16.0.3.525

What am I missing? Once provisioned i cannot manually add a new extension it seems. I am plugging in a brand new phone.. not going to auto - provision and test... maybe I am missing something with the connection to the 3cx system when manually done??

I will update after test in 20 min.

Ok, I grabbed a new phone.. manually added an ext wihtou issue. 2nd manual add fails with 5 out of 10 current extensions. some will work and some will not...
So - where in the config does it allow or not allow a manual added ext or some other rights, etc??
