I currently have a self-hosted freepbx system that I'm looking to move to 3cx. I could self host the 3cx locally in Auckland, but I'm looking to move away for owning my own servers.

I'm thinking about hosting via a cloud service - google, amazon, azure, or linode. None of these services are in Auckland, so I'd need to use a service in Sydney.

Assuming out/inwards calls via SIP truck gateway in Auckland and SIP clients in Auckland. How well does 3cx deal with latency - about 30ms from Auckland to Sydney, so 30ms+3cx server processing for client back to the trunk gateway?

Latency of what? If your PBX is hosted in Sydney and your trunk provider is too, the only latency you'll get is international calls. Those will depend on the provider, obviously.

Yes. The 30ms between Auckland - for both the client devices and SIP truck host - and Sydney with the 3CX server.

30ms is a good value.
Voice is great up to 80ms and acceptable to 120ms. After you will feel the delay in the conversation.

Thanks. I do some testing.
