I'm fairly new with 3cx so i don't know if this is possible. We paid out for a new Stentonfon intercom system a few months ago (our old system was 15 years old and parts were giving up). We are now in the process of rolling out a new phone system on 3CX. I have some staff asking can i unify the two systems together. Is it possible to keep the Stentonfon on its own separate rack unit but integrate it so that the people in my queue on 3CX can answer intercom calls through the same earpiece as they are using for normal SIP trunk calls? I still require the Stentonfon system to run because half my intercoms get sent to an outside security company, the other half are answered inside by my staff.

I suppose what i want to do is bridge or merge the two systems. Can this be done & if yes where do i start?

It would be an unsupported device meaning there is no guide we can point you to here. From a quick google search it would appear they have plenty of different models and it will depend which one you have, what features it supports etc. If it's newer I assume it would be one of the models that shows it supports SIP.

If you can setup that system to be programmed as either a SIP trunk or a SIP phone you can likely manually connect them at some level but it's up to you to figure out the details. More than likely the people who sold you that Intercom would be better suited to handle this request. On their end they would see the 3cx server as a SIP protocol PBX.
