Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how to get the message waiting lamp functional with the CISCO series IP phones? I've successfully configured a 7960 to register with 3CX but cannot seem to get the message light to work.

Thanks in advance.

Right now the Message Lamp indicator doesn't work with any phone with 3CX at the moment. Something they are currently working on.

Roger that. We have experimental support of MWI, but it has to be tested more.

Can I help test it? :D

Yes, as soon as it appears in new release :)

What is the timeframe for the new release? Thanks.

Brian

I am interested in this as well as this feature is quite problematic with cisco 7970s.

do you have a time frame on your next release as mentioned above ?[/url]

The timeframe for the release is first half of June

Has anyone been able to get the CISCO 7960 Series phones MWI light to work with 3CX yet? I was wondering if there had been any progress? Thanks!

I do not have any 7960 phones to test with but the MWI is working with Cisco 7941 and 7961 phones and the latest version of 3CX!

Does anyone have a complete process to convert a sccp to sip on Cisco 7961?. The current load file is sccp41.8-2-1s. Thanks you!

Does the 7961 use the same firmware as the 7960 if so I can let you have a copy of my config

I've got the 7961's running with the latest version of 3CX and still no message waiting light. What SIP version are you using on the phones?

What SIP version are you using on the phones?
SIP11.8-3-3SR2S and Enterprise Edition of 3CX

Oops. Above is the firmware we use on the 7906's.
The firmware we use on the 79x1 series is SIP41.8-3-2S. This version has proper functioning DND and MWI.

I have just upgraded to a paid system. The solution is almost too easy.

In the SIPDefault.cnf file, you must add the following entry:

# Dialtone Stutter for MWI
stutter_msg_waiting: 1 ; 0-Disabled (default), 1-Enabled

This not only enables a stutter dialtone, but also lights the message waiting indicator light!

It also lights the MWI regardless of what line position has the message. The cisco system will only light the message light if the message is waiting on the first line.

Sorry just to clarify does this work with the 3cx paid version or another paid system ?

Cheers Alex

Message Waiting Indicator is a feature of the Paid 3CX versions and not available in the Free version.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification.
