Message waiting tone

i have a analog phone conencted to a 3102
just today i am getting like a message waiting tone. if i connect the phone directly into the PTSN line it goes away. but connected to the 3102 i have that message waiting tone.

it's a problem with the Pap2 not the 3102
Line one has the problem. if i configure line 2 with the same info it works

there is no voicemail

i set it up on my wife's ext and my ext and does the same thing. but if i set it up on line 2 it works great

Thats odd, I havent seen it give false message waiting messages.

I assume you are talking about stutter dialtone? Have you gone into the options and turned the ones for message waiting options off? In the SPA3102 and 2102 there is one each under the Line and the User tabs, haven't used the Pap2 but most Linksys device menus are similar. Look for MWI or "message waiting".
