Hi

We're seeing this in the activity log;

08:56:02.781 [CM306003]: SIP IP:port mapping (119.238.76.241:62234) resolved by STUN server 216.93.246.14:3478 differs from the one (119.238.76.241:62237 resolved by STUN server 178.238.134.190

What exactly does that mean? The IP resolved by the STUN server is correct. However both of the ports mentioned aren't opened on the firewall (We have TCP/UDP 5090 and 5060 and UDP 9000 to 9050 open).

Any ideas?

Olly

You router may be translating the ports you have open, to other port numbers, and not the same one(s) each time a STUN test is made.

If you run the 3CX firewall test, and look over the results, it may give you some additional information to work with.

Ah, ha...I just noticed that you have done that (your other post) and discovered that your router is doing some port translations.

I've disabled the STUN feature and the messages have gone away and it hasn't appeared to make any difference, which is nice.

Having STUN turned on is not always necessary, depending on your VoIP provider. In fact some people have found that having it enabled has been the cause of some problems. It all depends on your particular set-up, there are many variables.

This message generally means that your router is SIP ALG capable.
You should either switch off STUN in your 3CX PhoneSystem (if you have static public address) or switch off SIP ALG functionality in your router (recommended by 3CX).

Regards
