Microphone volume very quiet on Iphone 7

a user has 3CX version 18.4.1.309 on their phone and they can hear the other end of a call but when they speak they are whisper quiet, if they call my mobile I can't hear them but on a PC I can turn the headphones volume right up and I can actually hear a whisper (i'm at a remote location so it's not that I can hear them through the door ;-) )

I found some suggestions about audio subsystem but I think that was android, there are very few options in IOS settings or in the 3cx app to fix this, I've always been android myself so my iOS knowledge is limited, any suggestions? (I realise it's an old phone but that's the joy of BYOD)

There's no microphone settings in iOS client, never had, everything audio is handled by the OS. Anyway, I recommend your user to update to the latest 18.6.1 from AppStore.

thanks, I did have a look at the app store but it didn't seem to offer an update, this was a couple of weeks before christmas though, is 18.6.1 recent? or is there a place to download it and side-load?

iPhone 7 doesn’t support iOS 16 so I’d guess can’t get the latest app. (Or security fixes for iOS)

I have one iPhone 7 running iOS 14.7 among my test devices - the 3CX client minimum supported iOS version is 14.0 - and we have no problem on it. We'll check for the AppStore on it (usually we use TestFlight on our test devices)

We just released 18.6.2.550 and I checked on iPhone 7 iOS 14.7's AppStore - is there and working OK.

I can confirm that there is still this issue, on my IPhone XS (IOS 16.2) The microphone is almost completely silent through the 3CX App. But if a call anyone through the phone the microphone is perfect. So there seems to be an issue with the 3CX not working correctly on IOS 16.2. I'm currently using the 18.6.2.550 release.

I have also tested it on my brothers XS, the same results. It works perfect on android phones and on my old IPhone SE (IOS 15) but for some odd reason not on the XS's.

This issue hasn't gone away for us either, it's a fairly serious bug!
