Solved Migrating on premise to the cloud questions

Hi, I am planning on a DR solution where we have to move 3cx from on premise to the cloud becuse the onsite server fails meaning and we cannot access the site due to Covid-19

All of our users are now remote using the Windows 3cx client.

I have upgraded my license to Enterprise.

I have tested restoring a backup without FQDN to Azure and it is pretty slick.

I want to know:

1: Would a backp with FQDN be best
2: Would my clients need reconfiguring bearing in mind FQDN would remain the same?

Do a complete backup from on premise, when done and saved out of pbx, stop on premise pbx.

install a new instance on cloud host and restore your previous backup during install.

Even FQDN stay the same, it's not pointing same public IP so you need to wait for DNS propagation, as you say you are ENT licence then should be very short time to wait, 5 min.

do you use deskphones or only webclient or App on smatrphones?

Any local devices will need to be reconfigured to provision based on SBC or STUN.

Mobile clients, desktop clients, webclient, and STUN phones that know your FQDN will be ok (provided you have "Reprovsion on startup" enabled for the apps).

I would recommend to install an SBC in your premises for the local deskphones, that way you can ensure good service and no STUN ports management will be needed. Plus, they only go down if the office internet drops (causing the SBC to disconnect). Everyone else on apps remains up

Thanks both, I have no access to the site so cannot set up and test a SBC.

Where would I find 'Reprovison on startup' settings in the windows 3cx app?

Management Console > Extensions > Pick your extension (or multiselect) > Phone Provisioning > Network box



Make sure they also have the tunnel and push (for ensured call quality and delivery)
