Solved Migration from 3cx Hosted to On-Premise Hosted.

I have an instance that is hosted in the 3CX cloud. I'm planning on migrating it to on premise for use with legacy phones that I have, which are not capable of connecting when cloud hosted.

Based on the information I have found, It is possible to abandon the cloud and reinstall on a server with the caveat of having to use a different FQDN.

Is there a way to do this, but with keeping the same domain name?

You can do it, but you would have to accept some down time. See https://www.3cx.com/docs/fqdn-management-allocation/

However, you can use an SBC instead of going on premise if that is the only reason?

I appreciate the response and the information. From what I'm understanding, based on this article, under limitations, https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-spa/, using Cisco SPA525G is not compatible with any form of 3cx hosted in the cloud. So if I'm reading correctly, an SBC would not work in this situation.

Cisco SPA devices have no support for "Remote Working" according to our documentation.

We can terminate the instance and you can perform a local reinstall of the system.
