Hi!!

We have a few 3CX instances on self-Azure Hosted , and a few on 3CX Hosted.

The 3CX Hosted works very well - kudos to the team for a great architecture!!! :-)

We would like to migrate the self-Azure Hosted instances to 3CX hosted - is there any way of achieving this??

Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, backup, spin in 3CX Hosted (portal > Switch to Hosted) and restore backup after the installation.

I don't know why you would move them tho since Hosted has some limitations.

@dnsleepless thank you for your good words, we try our best !! :)
Now about your request, yes it is possible to login to your customer portal and select option " Switch to Hosted ".
As you may see, when you click it you will see option to upload your backup :

Your backup must be less than 500 MB.
Keep in mind backup must have included license key and FQDN.
If backup does not have it, then you will not be able to upload it during migration.
Also if it is more than 500 MB, then you can setup the PBX as it is, it will create 1 extensino only and then you can restore on top (post installation) via FTP, sFTP or Google Bucket.
This will bring your configuration in and your PBX will be as it was at your side.

Thanks @Frederick Marcoux and @NikosT_3CX

As regards why we would do it - it's about weighing up the pros/cons -

We feel that having the Hosted Instances managed and supported by 3CX is quite valuable.

Granted there are limitations - but we are still evaluating if those limitations will be "show-stoppers".

It's great to hear other's feedback on it -> particularly around the limitations -> so any further info would be appreciated!

Thanks all!

The biggest stop for us is: no CFD.

However, no custom templates, no IP-based trunks, no STUN supported, etc... not easy!

OK - great info - we are not using the CFD (but we have it on roadmap - so good to know).

Will post feedback here based on the above -

The current instances we have on 3CX hosted are simple, small number of users, standard.

I guess this is the current target audience!

As @Frederick Marcoux mentioned, 3CX does not support Call Flow Designer applications, nor do they support any 3rd-party tools including VoIPTools. There are size limitations as well.

@dnsleepless I made an update on my reply above as I forgot some steps.
Apologies :)
