Hello,

We have a customer with some Fanvil X5U's connected to an on-premise 3CX PBX hosted on Debian. Version is 18.0 Update 4.

Right now the way the calls are routed when someone calls their main number it rings all the phones in the office via a ring group, if no one answers then it goes to a "general voicemail" box, which is just a dummy extension with no phone attached to it. I am getting a report from one of the users that even if someone answers an inbound call, it will still show a missed called on their deskphone. But from what I understand, the way its supposed to work with Ring All set on a ring group, there shouldn't be a missed call if someone answers the call before going to the "Destination if no answer" correct? Or will it still show up on the desk phone?

With a ring group, missed call notifications are to be expected, whether it goes to the DNA or not.

To avoid them, you need to use a call queue, which will send a CANCEL to the agents once answered or DNA and thus avoid the missed call.

Ok thanks. I knew queues would achieve this, but the customer didn't want to use them because they want callers to hear the ring trills and not hold music. What they want can't be done then, not without dealing with missed call notifications.

Just use a soundfile of the ring for the call qeue.

Thats a good idea actually. That'll be easy to generate. Thanks!
