Move AWS 3CX server to new instance by making server image

Can this be done?
I have been trying out 3CX on an on-demand instance and I would now like to move it to a cheaper reserved instance.

Hi William,

I have never heard/seen anyone doing this so I would advise if you wanted to attempt this you take a full backup of your system first: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/pbx-backup-restore-failover/

I can just halt the old server and keep it in reserve.
The new server will obviously have a new IP and MAC but everything on the disk will all be exactly the same

In case anyone is interested this does not work because the IP address is changed.
Also it is not necessary because one does not need to create a new instance for it to be reserved.
