Hi

I have a client who currently archive their recordings to Google drive, but are running out of space.
I don;'t want to invest further in a solution that is now deprecated so I want to move the recordings to an FTP site.

I know that U4 has a utlility to move recordings, but don't want to upgrade the client to a beta version.

So, is there a way to move the reconding from one archive location to another?

Cheers

Running out of space as "IMMINENT" ?
Or might last another couple weeks?

I wouldn't expect the GA for 4 until after the holiday... they are probably shorthanded in support.

Hi Dave,

Due to the naming scheme of the GDrive you will need the utility in V16U4 to take care of things for you. If you are in a real hurry you will have to use the beta otherwise hold out until the release which is very near completion.

Make sure the local drive has enough space to import the recordings from GDrive when the time comes. They are imported locally and then uploaded to FTP with the new utility.

Hi both

They are very nearly out of space but I see U4 has gone general release today?

If I have to bring all the recording back to local, that could be an issue.
The 3CX is on Google cloud.
I can expand the HDD but don't think I can shrink it again after?

Or, could I add a second zonal persitant disk, do the transfer and then delet the additional drive?
I could change the local storage path to the mount point of the new drive?

I would add the 2nd disk, repoint your local recordings to this disk then move back, send to new FTP then remove. I dont see why that wouldnt work. Make sure phonesystem has permission to it

Actually I cant see an option to select a 2nd disk. Expanding your disk might be your only option

Important detail: When switching between recording locations, do not de-authorize the Google Drive

As it's Linux the second drive is just mounted as whatever e.g. /additionaldrive and is accessed via that mount point?

Here's one for you @JohnS_3CX

My archived recordings was set to GDrive FolderA which no longer existed.
I changed it to FolderB which does exist and sent my local recordings to archive.
Local recordings no longer exist (I've checked directory)
There are no recordings in the GDrive Folder B (i've checked directory) but 3CX has marked them as archived.
I can download the wavs from 3CX.
Where are my recordings?
Migrate Archive emails me an error saying FolderA doesnt exist.

Yes i've just tested and it's visible.

I've also just archived and then migrated to the 2nd HDD mount successfully so you should be good.

I stand corrected. Update 4 is GA today!

I think this one is for Google, not me ;)

You can bet for sure that if they are downloadable via the management console, Google is serving them to your PBX.

OK so I was going to test this out on my lab kit and I find that the 'Migrate' button is missing?
Is there a way to get it back?
I think it may be because I had already changed the archive location to an FTP site first to test it out?
Cheers

It's okay.

Even though it said they weren't in GDrive I think they actually were. I was able to migrate them back to local.

@DaveA66

The way I got it back was to turn on remote archive again for recordings and select Google.

Then go to Settings > Parameters and search for recordings

You should have RECORDING_ARCHIVE in there.

Click add and name it TRANSFER_RECORDINGS with a value of 5.

this will bring your migrate archive button back.

Edit2

I found that switching between FTP and Google Drive when enabling remote archive made it disappear and come back only if the TRANSFER_RECORDINGS parameter exists.

Brilliant thanks, I added the parameter, and I have the Migrate button back!
Cheers!

The migration assistant option only appears after you upgrade a system that already has GDrive recordings archiving.

If you added a GDrive afterwards, the system will not detect it unless the services are restarted and it runs the check again.

OK so I got the migration to go, I got thye email to say it was done however some recording, about the 10 most recent archived recordings still have the Archived icon next to them...
I guess these ones have been left behind?

What happens if you press migrate again?

Well I already had to do it twice.
The Migrate button has now disappeared - the value of the parameter above changes to a 2 if it thinks it is complete.
I will change the param back to 5 and try again...
