Moving 3cx; new Public IP

I'm looking at moving a cloud instance of 3cx from one provider to another. I will have a new public IP address, but can easily restore a full backup with FQDN from our current setup.

How should I go about this? How would the FQDN update to the new IP address?

Backup with fqdn and license.

When you install the new instance, select restore from the backup and it will confirm to you the new public IP address - just confirm the new setting

Remember to switch off your old 3cx , before install the new instance

If you follow the steps @Saqqara mentioned, the DNS records for the FQDN will be updated upon re-installation. This provided of course that you're using a 3CX FQDN in which case we managed the DNS.

Do bear in mind that for a Pro License Key the DNS TTL is 6 hours and for an Enterprise it is 5 minutes. Also, we cannot control global propagation, so you could also consider configuring Google's DNS on your remote sites to help speed up the process.

Thank you. We have moved a few like this. I was curious if there was a method to transfer to another server, login via IP address (of the server) and then change the IP configuration on the portal. Seems added steps for no reason, as Backup >> Restore seems the more novel approach. Thanks for the help!

Understood, however, since the process will involve moving from one hosted provider to another and therefore getting rid of one VM and spawning a new one, taking a backup and using it to restore on the new VM will be some of the steps.
