Hi

We currently run 3CX Pro 16.0.493 onsite on a windows server 2016 machine. We want to move it to another machine on the same network which is a Windows Server 2019. The only difference will be that instead of running on a machine with the IP 192.168.16.252 it will be 192.168.16.253

Is it just a case of taking a backup and then restoring this backup on the new machine and anywhere it refers to 192.168.16.252 change it to .253. Is there anything I need to watch out or in terms of licence activation?

I saw this guide https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/pbx-backup-restore-failover/#h.2a3yvcw23lo4/ but it mentions deactivating the license which an option our version does't have

Yes backup and restore. Be sure the old instance is offline before installing the new instance. It would be preferable to keep it on the same IP but if not, the restore will update everything to use the new IP. It's just a matter of letting the phones know about the new IP which can be done in a couple different ways depending on quantity and location relative to the PBX.

Hi. It worked ok using the restore tool on the new machine. I made sure I stopped all the services on the old machine first. Thanks

You should make the is a VM, that way in the future you can just stop the VM on one machine copy it to the new one and start it.
