Hi

I am moving from Windows Server to Debian, we also have our own custom FQDN.

I have previously been given these basic steps below.

You backup your existing configuration, move to location where you can access it
Switch off the old server
Install Debian using 3CX ISO - https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/installing-debian-linux-pbx/
Install 3CX using the option 'Restore of existing backup'

In addition to this I now need to also change the FQDN which will be used by the new server. Unfortunately I can't keep the same. Please advise how I do this as part of the move.

You backup the existing server without license and fqdn , so when it comes to restoring it will ask you for this info.

Ok, so then I believe the fqdn is locked to the license. So I presume I have to do something on the customer portal, to allocated the new fqdn to the existing license

I not sure about custom fqdn, you do with 3CX fqdn.

With the customer portal, select the license and release the fqdn

Plus during the install of the Debian operating system, I assume the 3CX install follows straight after than process form the ISO. But I then have to get the license and backup file to this new machine. Can I assume that ssh will be running, so I can copy the file, so that they are available to the install routine. Or can I restore after the 3CX install has completed.

Copay the backup file to a local pc, as you run the wizard from a local machine.

at the end of the installation use option 1 to run the wizard from a browser. type the url into a lbrowser and follow the steps
