Multi-hotel setup with duplicate room numbers without using extension prefixes

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a multi-hotel deployment in 3CX where each hotel has the same room numbering scheme (e.g., 101, 102, 200, etc.).

Since 3CX requires unique extension numbers, the obvious solution is to add a hotel prefix (for example, Hotel 1 = 10101, Hotel 2 = 20101). However, I'd like to avoid changing the room numbers if possible.

Is there any way in 3CX to support duplicate room numbers across different hotels without assigning prefixes to the extension numbers?

For example, can extensions be made unique internally while still allowing each hotel's rooms to appear and dial as 101, 102, 200, etc., based on the hotel or department they belong to? Or is using unique extension numbers with prefixes the only supported approach?

I'd appreciate any recommendations or examples from anyone who has implemented a multi-property hotel solution.

Hi, in this scenario, each hotel should use its own PBX system, so you can also integrate their PMS since it is unique and does not support multiple PMS integrations.

Then you may bridge the systems if these hotels need communication between them.

Many hotels over 9 floors have to add a prefix to the lower floor rooms to accommodate floors 10 and above and use a 4 digit extension number. It's just something that guests have to deal with.Make the dialing instructions clear on the phones instruction card. So adding something like a 3 prefix, to one hotels room numbers, and a 4 prefix to the others should not be a big deal for the few guests that call room to room. Most are probably calling someones mobile, to reach a friend staying at the same hotel, anyway.. The alternative is to do, as suggested above., and use two PBXs
