We have been consolidating our branches onto a single PBX(s). Everything has been working great, however, we have found one significant limitation we can't seem to overcome. When a customer zeros out to the operator or stars out of an IVR, we can only direct them to one number. We don't have a central receptionist for all our branches, so this doesn't work. Each branch handles this, but we have no way to redirect to a specific number for each branch.

Has anyone dealt with this situation before? We are too large (25 branch locations split between 2 Enterprise Edition PBXs) and too complex to have individual instances of 3CX for each branch.

Help please! This is our Achilles heel with this solution...

I'm afraid you cannot have more than one operator on a 3CX PBX and to be honest, the 3CX PBX was not designed for multi tenant use so I would not recommend using it in that manner.

Perhaps....(and , no, it's not an ideal solution), have the operator number route to a digital receptionist, allowing callers to select which office operator they want.

This will require the creation of a Call Flow Designer (CFD) application.
  1. Designate a dummy extension as the operator.

  2. Have the dummy extension forward all calls to a CFD

  3. Have the CFD determine what DID the customer dialed (presumably each branch has their own DIDs)

  4. Look up the DID in a table that maps the DID to an operator extension

  5. Transfer the call to the correct "operator" for that branch
Getting the original DID the caller dialed may be the only challenge, but I am absolutely certain this can be done.
