Issue is that a user has desk phones at different locations, and uses the dialer to initiate a call. Without being able to ID them in the dialer, (they both show up as Yealink SIP-T54W), there's confusion about which one will be used to initiate the call.

Ideally will be able to rename them so that they are easily identifiable - can this be done somehow?

If this isn't possible, is there another solution I'm not thinking of?

Hi @EddieW,

I assume "the dialer" is a Call Flow Designer (CFD) application. I don't think the CFD has the ability to specify which phone places the call. However, the 3CX Call Control API does. You would need to incorporate into your application some C# code to call the native MakeCall function rather than using the built-in function.

Alternatively, you could use our REST API to perform the MakeCall as a web service. We have several different versions of MakeCall in our API. One of the API's enables you to specify the phone that will place the call.

No, the native dialer in the 3CX Web Client...

I'm afraid it's not possible to change but you could probably use the MAC address as a unique identifier.

It should show for the T54W like so:
