Hi all,

We have one designated operator but we need more than one person to accept "0" calls if they're on vacation. I tried setting up a dummy account that is not provisioned to a phone with an Exception rule of * and All Hours gets forwarded to a ring group but it doesn't like it. It will only forward it to the first person in the group. Does anyone have suggestions on how to accomplish this?

What happens to the second caller...busy tone? I wonder if the dummy extension is allowing more than one call?

To first confirm the config, you have an extension(dummy) that has SIP ID set as 0. You also have an exception for this extension, that forwards all calls to a Ring group that contains multiple extensions that you've deemed as operators.

Though SIP IDs are not exactly designed for such scenarios, I did give this a try and it should work. Have you made sure that the Ring Group is set to the "Ring All" ringing strategy?

Hi everyone, so I found the error. It looks like the digital receptionist "0" function was set to that one persona and not the dummy extension. For those needing this set up in the future, I...

1. Set up a dummy extension and for forwarding rules exception, used * and pointed the calls to an Operator ring group.
2. Set up an operator ring group.
3. Changed the Operator under "General" to my dummy extension.
4. Changed the Digital Receptionists "0" keys to the dummy extension.
