Hi all

3cx V20 hosted with many desktop handsets and a Yealink DECT set up correctly with 4 extensions assinged to it. Works fine, but all outgoing calls are tied to only the first extensions outbound caller ID. So if extension number 2, 3, or 4 calls out it uses the caller ID of extension 1 on the list.
Is this due to the base station being assigned to that extension, or is due to the order of extension numbers using that DECT handset?
Does this mean I need to create different outbound rules for each of the other extensions so that their Outbound caller ID shows? (which of course I don't need to do with any other single extension on a non shared handset)

Any hints or tricks appreciated!

Hi Adam,

Regardless of whether you use DECT, IP phones, or 3CX clients, the outbound ID of the extension is defined here:

If you made the call from user 102's handset but the call logs show it was made by 101 for example, then you know that you've changed the outbound user extension from within the Yealink base/handset and that's where you need to go fix it (factory reset, assign handsets 1 by 1 again).

..or you can fix it here buy ensuring the number assignment matrix looks like my example:

Hmm ok I get that. I didn't realise you could assign that from the base station. Thanks for the reply!

That being said, it's only one handset - not multiple. So one handset with 4 extensions assigned to it. I want the one handset to give four different outbound IDs.
Can this still be done from the base?

It should be doable form a single handset. Keep in mind this is not something that 3CX configures or supports, but if your device can do it you can try and see if it works for you as you intend it. If it causes strange behavior, then just make outbound rules with prefixes and your outbound ID. Make sure to read here carefully, there are things you must be aware of: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/outbound-call-routing/

Assign all 4 extensions to your single handset Outgoing Lines

Use line key every time to choose which extension will be making the call

Just to be clear again, this is not something we support exclusively so not sure if it will work as you want it, give it a try and see.

I would suggest to start reading Yealink's manuals to learn how their features work.

I reckon they aren't pressing the right line key and just calling when it is always set to 1.

Good ideas for me to work with, thanks heaps.
