Hi ben,

How are the phones currently connected to the PBX?

they are provisioned via STUN.

Can you check all your STUN phone extensions on this PBX and ensure that they all have unique ports assigned?

No problem. If they are all configured to 5060 or 5065, will changing them on the PBX and the reprovisioning solve the issue? I only ask as that will be our clients first response given they have had no issues for almost a year with the same settings.

Each and every STUN phone needs to have a unique SIP port. You cannot have them all configured to the same port. The customer probably did not have a problem with calls, but the duplicates will appear

It should be for example:

Jane Moriaty: 5060
Christopher Wood: 5062
Richard Clayton: 5064 and so on ..

Also, can you check if the remote phones firewall is configured correctly (static ports set per each phone, and SIP-ALG off)? It may be the case that the phones are assigned random ports each time by the firewall. The PBX sees the same extension sending registration from various ports and causes duplicates to appear.

Ok thanks for the info. I can confirm that they are set up using the default setting so will go ahead and change this but they have never had duplicate phones appear in this manner so perhaps they were just a little fortunate and now it has caught up. I will make the changes and report the results.
