Solved mycompany.3cx.dk is ponting to wrong IP address

Hi

(IP's and FQDN below are fictive)

I set up 3cx system at home (ip 100.1.1.1) with FQDN mycompany.3cx.dk - everything worked pefectly.

I backed it up and restored it in my company (ip 200.2.2.2) with FQDN mycompany.3cx.dk, uninstalled the version at home - everything worked pefectly.

Now I install 3cx at home again, but with a new test account FQDN mytest.3cx.dk.

But when my new test at home starts up, it changes FQDN mycompany.3cx.dk away from 200.2.2.2 to 100.1.1.1 - I need to stop all test services and reboot my production 3cx server in order to change FQDN back to 200.2.2.2.

Why is my test using FQDN mycompany.3cx.dk and not mytest.3cx.dk, when I uninstalled and installed a new 3cx server (on the same pc)? Didn't the uninstall remove all?

How can I fix this?

Are you using the same license key for both systems ?

Are you wan settings set to static, when you have a dynamic IP - Advanced - Network Settings

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it - seams to work now.
I will never be able to find the problem, but I assume you are right.

Now I install 3cx at home again, but with a new test account FQDN mytest.3cx.dk.

Provided that you used a new License Key as @Saqqara said this should not have happened, unless of course you restored the backup on the new server before uninstalling the old. If you had both PBXs running with the same License Key even for a brief moment, there is a chance the old PBX renewed the FQDN DNS record with the old IP. This is one of the reasons we always recommend only having one PBX running with the same License Key at any give time.
