New Android Beta App with Updated UI, Call Encryption and Reconnection

We are aware of this - we will fix in the next update.
We will also silence the call if you press volume up or down buttons like what happens in a standard dialer call. And we will put emphasis on volume control because volume control is disabled during ringing and connected stage. (hence why people are complaining about low volume)
Thanks for reporting.

Before you throw the phone in the lake tell me what phone it is :p
Good that 3cx will try to make this better.
Another thing which I already mentioned: In case the connection drops the new software tries to reconnect. But this takes time. More then 20sec when switching from mobile to Wifi for example. But there is no notification. Just silence. The majority of users will hang up when they only hear silence. They will thinkg the call is dropped. Please add a "hold why the call is reconnected" message with a customizable sound file like the MOH. That would improve the usabiility.

We have found a bug in beta version V16.3

If you Call your own Extension from external via the same Mobile Phone which
has your Extension registered in the new 3cx Mobile App you only have audio
for about 1 second if you answer the Call via your hardphone (for example
Yealink T46S/T58V) or Webclient. As soon as you deactivate the extension in
the Mobile App everything works fine.

No, it's about the audio stream aborting after taking off.

Will it address the call audio drops when on mobile call and 3CX app rings?
Yes When you are on sip and a mobile comes you will hear a subtle double beep. (You would need some getting used to because on different phones the beep is different.. We use a telecom signal not a beep file. We will improve this later)
When you are on mobile and sip comes, the sip will go to forwarding rules as busy.

No, the audio stream is stopped. That's a bug, but maybe it's solved today with the new BETA app.

I dont understand what you mean. You mean your voice was transmitting and it stopped? [Try with other phones in the same network. Maybe you are getting lost packets in your network - it is a very possible cause to have packet loss or overload.

No .. when you are on mobile call and app rings, you lose audio on the mobile call. Call us still connected but no audio.

OK in the next beta, when this happens, we will reject the sip call because you are busy on a gsm call. Like whats app, telegram etc all do. We released just now - try it.

Please test yourself.

Call with your mobile phone via GSM to your 3CX desk phone (Yealink) with extension eg: 100. On your mobile phone, the app must be registered with extension 100. Then pick up at the desk phone. No audio.

Why are you calling your own phone from your mobile? If you want to prove the test prove it by calling another phone at least not one that you want to reach which will pUsh your personal phone too.,
When the incomign call comes from the Telcom to the pbx, it is ringing your phone and also pushing your mobile.
So when your phone rings maybe there is a problem.
If you want to do this, stop push from your phone.
Anyway I tried - it doesnt happen in my case. it rings, and you answer the deskphone and audio both ways.

I found this fact in a test. I call my desk phone from my mobile phone with GSM. On my mobile phone, the 3CX App is registered with the same extension of the deskphone. I pick up my desk phone. There is no audio.

Problem with new Beta App solved!

thanks for update - much appreciated (even though the test is a bit unrealistic - but you are right - it "can" happen. So thanks

App was working great except for these last few days. Android Client Samsung Galaxy S9. Slide up to answer doesn't answer the calls. However, side up to not answer works. Started getting random times the App would say connecting and never connect. So I figured why the hell not and uninstalled it. Then reinstalled from the play store. After scanning the bar code it's saying "No Active Profile" at the top right side of the screen. I have the same thing happening on a Pixil 3 running the beta. However, we have nearly 60 Sales reps running the non-beta version and not having a single issue.

I use the Google Pixel 3a daily without issues. Please work via the android support or this forum to troubleshoot this issue because it might be related to something else. We will be in touch

Now it's really broken ... Updated app no problem .. now it no longer rings at all .. direct dial from another extension and app does not open or ring. Even having app open and calling it from another extension doesn't work. Did a reprovision and no change .. rebooted phone and no change.. interestingly it does show missed calls in call log

What phone is this? If it does not ring you have a push problem and you need to follow this guide.
https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/android-push-issues/
Many solutions in this post.

Confirming this is still same with inbound calls ... deskphone rang on incoming queue call and prior to thsi update, mobile app would ring as well. Mobile sitting next to deskphone and nothing ... extension is registered when i open the app but even having app open it does not ring ... tested with non beta app on same model phone and no issue ... Samsung Galaxy S9

We have an S9 and it does not have these problems - one of the best phones actually.
Test with the beta app on another phone. Testing the non beta app is a waste of time because that is old, not updated, and if it works it means nothing because the technology of how calls are handled is completely different. if you test the beta on another phone, you will see different results. If you see the same results, then we might need to check pbx. YOu can also send a welcome email to [email protected] and we can make a test by connecting to your pbx from our networks. Send an email so we can see what is happening.

Samsung Galaxy S9 .... push worked perfectly before update yesterday .. for giggles i checked the link you gave me and everything was set up right except battery optimization ... changed that .. no change .. rebooted phone ... no change ....

No no wait a second -
battery optimizations means you told android to get any 3CX activity and suppress it or any related activity to it. So check again ALL the items in the post because in the same way you added 3CX to be screened for battery usage, maybe you made other settings (what about background restrictions? that is the most important thing)
This beta HAS to work on s9. If it doesnt, you have something wrong on your phone. -You need to work in that direction. This is a phone we know from the internals if you know what I mean. Your judgement cannot be correct. Send me a welcome email let me see.

I'll set up on S7 i have here and let you know .... Love the S9 and have not had any issue until now.. and only after latest update which was to fix it dropping audio on mobile calls when 3cx rang ...
Shall i make an extension for you to test or send you my welcome email ??

Try on the S7. We know that phone too. It should work. You need to add an extension and in the email put [email protected]. Then I will call you or you will call me..
