New Firmware Release for Yealink T29G, T46G and T48G Models

Is there an easy way to upgrade a few hundred T29g's to this special firmware without doing each manually? Will Update 6 resolve this issue?

I also understand that the 29g is EOL, and I started migrating to the 48u this past summer starting with ones here in the IT Department.

However, trying to budget for a complete overhaul of phones every few years will be pricey when phones go EOL. So I have in our current budget to do several at a time, but it might take a couple of years (possibly to replace all the current 29g's with 48u's) Not to mention when we originally purchased these phones in 2017, we purchased several extra ones that are still in their boxes BRAND NEW.

Local PBX - Can now be done via the MC in the upcoming V18 Update 6

Remote Phones - You will have to do them manually, or look up Yealink documentation for options on mass upgrading phones on a managed network.

Has anyone had any issues with the new firmware on T48G?
We are starting to get a number of phones factory resetting themselves since the new update was installed.

Any ideas

Hi Jimbo,

Just curious as to what you saw exactly which led you to think it was factory reset?

(as opposed to the "No Service" message you get when the phone simply goes offline let's say)

Hi John,
When logging into the web page it reverted back to standard login admin/admin and all settings were wiped ie no URL and no account.

Just a guess,
That sounds like a phone may be registered with Yealink remote provisioning service. Especially if they were ever using another provider. You can try changing the phone to direct sip stun and see if event log shows error for that phone registering for RPS indicating it was registered to a different RPS account. Then you can go to yealink and use their RPS mac removal tool from the support ticket site to have phones removed from some other RPS account.

If you need to apply for an RPS account to get access to the automated tool here is instructions:

Hi QueBall,

All phones are registered by 3cx URL. Phones were new when installed and only a few of them are doing this.
