Solved New Install - System Owner Information

Hi All,

I am just looking to find out if there is a way to define the System Owner details and extension number during the install process? I have found that it is always using Extension 1000 and a random name.

For example the latest one I setup was an “On Premise” setup and I put in all the customers details against the license in the 3CX portal (portal.3cx.com). I copied the URL and put it into the 3CX wizard and the only information it pulled across was the email address.

My main concern is am I able to choose the extension number for the System Owner? My clients generally like to use range 1000 - 1999 and I always used to choose the System Owner as 5000 in v18. The second part would be why does it not just pull the customers details from what I entered against the license?

We usually create another for us since we manage our clients’ installs. Another for them. Then the original can be removed and the number reused.

Just edit the setupconfig.xml file with the extension number you want. Dont forget to also change the operator extension too.

Yes. This is what I had been doing. It just doesn't make much sense to me as to why 3CX would have removed something that was part of the setup process previously.

I'll give this a try next time and see if it's quicker and easier then deleting and creating a new extension. Is there any possibility the ability to enter the extension number and name will come back to the install wizard?

No, the setupconfig XML is the way we do this now, as it also allows you to automate the setup with the 3CX configuration API.
