SBC uses TCP/TLS to relay SIP, voice goes via UDP - but only if UDP has been established. If not, voice goes via TCP.

Great, thank you for the clarification. We've opened up UDP and are now seeing stats.

With the latest release, what would be the recommended limit of phone/extensions behind an i7 SBC with about how many BLFs?
Last post I saw had it at about 100 / 10 BLFs each.
I have a client who may have 100+ at a site and wondering how it would handle it.

An i7 SBC will be very powerful, you can way more than a 100 extensions, maybe even 500, including BLF. Though why rely so much on BLF? I would really try to explain people to apps and the clients its really the way to go. Not only in upfront purchase cost but ongoing management and ease of use....

Hi Chris,

Officially the largest number of extension and BLFs we have tested and certified is what we have listed in the hardware specs page found here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/

While larger numbers may be possible depending on the hardware, we have not tested with more that 100 extensions.
