I've just setup 3CX on Amazon Lightsail, and I've signed up with Skyetel for my provider. I used the Skyetel guide to create my SIP trunks in 3CX, and I can make outbound calls, but I cannot make any incoming calls. If I call the number I purchased from Skyetel, I get an error from Verizon saying the call cannot be completed as dialed.

Here's the Skyetel doc I used: https://skyetel.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SUG/pages/516194305/3CX+Legacy+Configuration

I used *1234 as my Main Trunk No, and I also used the phone number I purchased from Skyetel as the main trunk (with an asterisk in front).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you set an inbound rule on your trunk ?

Yes, I created an inbound rule according to the Skyetel document link I posted earlier. I used *1234 as my main trunk number, and set the Registar/Hostname/Gateway/IP value to 52.41.52.34, 52.8.201.128, 52.60.138.31, 50.17.48.216, 35.156.192.164 (as suggested in the document). I set the Options to Allow Inbound Call and uncheked the Allow Outbound Calls (as suggested in the document).

I set my DID to *1949 (the last 4 digits of the number I purchased from Skyetel) and it's working! I can make inbound and outbound calls now.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

what have you changed from previous config, did you remove registar IP's ?
is real number end 1949 ? 1234 was a fake or have you set this?

My Registrar IP values where as follows:

52.41.52.34, 52.8.201.128, 52.60.138.31, 50.17.48.216, 35.156.192.164

I got these directly from the Skyetel documents.

The real number ends in 1949. 1234 was a fake, and according to the Skyetel document I could put any number in there (even a fake). I don't know if that's the case, but when I changed the Trunk number to *1949 (the last 4 digits of my number with Skyetel), that allowed me to receive inbound calls.

Of course you can't use a fake number in inbound rule if you want it to be applied, this is why, now, it works as number is found in rule .
Probably this is on outbound rule where you can use (with Skyetel) a fake number.

Hi Scott,

You should not need to set it up that way, I think that guide is out of date.
Take a look at our guide instead: https://www.3cx.com/docs/us-sip-trunk-skyetel/

The main trunk number should be entered instead of 1234, and it must be in E164 format.

Thanks for the link to the 3cx document. I've changed my main trunk number to the E164 format, and it's working.
