New web client reveals users' mobile numbers to internal callers

If an extension has set up "Call forwarding to mobile", the internal caller sees the mobile number of the called extension in the web client. Because private cell phone numbers or cell phone numbers that are not known to the other employees are often entered, e.g. those of the management, only the extension number should be displayed as before.

This is actually expected behavior that cannot be changed for call forwarding.

The only way to achieve this would be to utilize "Ring my mobile simultaneously" instead. This option is only available in the Available and Custom 1 Profile statuses.

To add to what Chris wrote, this is not something of the "new" WebClient, the V16 WebClient also had the exact same behavior:

We have a similar problem here. A colleague does not like the fact that the private phone number to which she forwards calls is displayed to every internal caller. However, here it is not a mobile number but a landline number. If i remember rigth, this normal forwarding number (landline) was not shown in the v16 3CX App.

Why is there a difference between the old client and the webclient? Was it a bug? For me it was a surprise as we changed to the v18 App. Using "forward to" (not forward to mobile) was a good solution to hide the number, because we were only using the 3cx App in the company.

It is indeed slightly different than the old Windows App (aka 3CX phone for windows) in the sense that the external number would not show while on the call but it would still be visible in the call history of the App so really, there is no difference.
