I'm hoping this is an easy fix. We have a client that is implementing Zoho CRM integration with contact creation. Now, for almost all calls currently, they are getting a contact named:

New 3CX Contact 5555551212

What this means is that caller id on their phone now displays as

3CX Contact 5555551212, New:INBOUND RULE (5555551212)

It used to display as:

5555551212:INBOUND RULE (5555551212)

They were able to answer calls differently based on being able to see the inbound rule being used, but now that contacts are being created, there is too much text for them to see it.

So can we reformat the callerid displayed on the phones to not include the contact? Perhaps ONLY the inbound rule piece? If they can see just this on their phones they are happy

INBOUND RULE (5555551212)

or if we have to, APPEND the contact instead?

INBOUND RULE (5555551212):CONTACT

Thanks!

Of course as soon as you post something you realize what you have been staring at the whole time.

Advanced / Contacts / Options / Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID - Prepend Name

That gets me 99.999% of the way there. Now the phone displays:

INBOUND RULE:3CX Contact 5555551212, New (5555551212)

Since the inbound rule is the important piece, this will work.

I am still wondering if there are more ways we could format this though that I am still missing? One thing I now realize is that in the new contact creation, I could set it to use JUST [number] for the last name and then "3CX Contact" for the first name and that would get me:

INBOUND RULE:5555551212, 3CX Contact (5555551212)

So that will work for now, still curious about other options though for caller id display on the phones.

First of, this is expected when using the 3CX CRM Integration. It does change the Caller ID Name.

However, you can change that by changing this option (Advanced > Contacts > Options) :

(You figured it out lol)
