Good day,

I was using Google Voice for years, for free, but it does not work, on XP, anymore.

Seems to me that I should be able to configure 3CX software to work, on XP for free with COMCAST but so far, no luck.

Online, it said it would work with XP but the info at
this link, does NOT mention XP
sigh....

Theoretically speaking, should I be able to make phone calls on XPSP3 without paying $20.00 a month to a VOIP provider ? I am already paying $50 / month to ripoff COMCAST.

Thanks in advance,
DPQ

Are you talking about Windows XP?

yes, with service pack 3

The current versions of 3cxphone for windows only work with 3CX pbx and not any other system/provider. It is no longer supported on Windows XP but it may/may not install but would be fully unsupported and not recommended.

Much older versions of 3cxphone for windows supported any sip account and also windows xp. But you would be better off going for a freeware sip phone than trying to find an old version of 3cxphone.

Check out xlite. Again though you probably need an older version as most current software doesn’t support windows xp.

Why using XP today ? if you don't want to buy new computer neither a windows licence, reinstall with iso debian 9 provided by 3CX, hardware system needs almost to be 64 bytes

Bruce,

Where you thinking of using just the 3CX Windows app to register your Comcast phone account on it and dial out?

Consider buying an Obi200 for use with GV.
