I cannot get it to "hear" the # key on softphone and i'm unable to log into voicemail and do anything with that, everything else seems to be working fine, question though, is there a particular button to "reset" the server or do I need to go into services and shut all the 3CX* programs off and then restart them? thanks!

Hi,

Which softphone are you using? have you tried x-lite or sjphone, also dialling plan could be causing you issues.

At the moment you need to restart the 3CX services manually from the services control panel on your server.

Hope this helps

Regards

thanks for the response, yes i'm using SJphone and i'm not sure what you are referring to as far as calling plan, right now i'm having issues just with local, i can dial each ext but like for vm I can't get it to respond to the key tones

Is your soft phone generating the DTMF out of band or in band? It should be in band, the exact same way that it works from a normal phone. To check this you can dial another extension, press the buttons and see if you hear the DTMF tones being generated.

Yes i can hear the DTMF tones but its still not responding, now I can call extensions like i said before and after the pre-determined time it will go to vm but when the voicemail extension is dialed it answers and i enter the extension number and after about 15 seconds, its says thank you, goodbye and hangs up

Yep, DTMF allright.

Bind the phone to the media server under the advanced settings for the extension.

I did the binding for the extensions, here a copy of the sever log:

and its still now working .....

Looks like you have more than one problem.

Access right to the local directory and you have two different subnets.

Try to eliminate the access rights to you local directory first, 3cx creates a user see if the user has enough rights to that directory.

yes the phone system has FULL rights to the parent and temp directories i hvae it actually connecting now but when i go to record the following is dumped in the log:

22:06:07.671 StratInOut::onCancel Call from Ext.101 to 999 has been terminated
22:06:06.671 ??: from 'Win-2003-Svr-1:0/MediaServer':EP 00000010@. Recording cancelled. Failed to open file "C:DOCUME~1PHONES~1LOCALS~1TempRWV7F.tmp" for writing

??: from 'Win-2003-Svr-1:0/MediaServer':DTMF detection off on EP:00000010@

22:05:48.609 CallConf::onIncoming Incoming call from Ext.101 to
sip:[email protected]

Good noticed you got all on the same network segment.

All you need to do now is:

1. Open the 'Environment Variables' window (Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced/Environment Variables).
2. Please set the 'TEMP' and 'TMP' system variables (not user variables for the current user !!!) to the 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP' value (or shorter one, like 'C:\TEMP').
3. Restart 3CX IVR Service and 3CX Media Server Service.

(Not my solution, Alexander from the 3cx support team posted this one earlier).
