Hi,

My apologies if this has been asked before. I searched the forum entries but didn't find what I was looking for.

I'm a residential home phone user, currently using Vonage. Vonage is good, however, it's becoming expensive ($70 + per month). I was considering an alternative using 3CX but there are some caveats that I'm hoping could be accomplished with the right SIP Trunk/VoIP provider.

I have a lot of friends/relatives in the UK that I call several times a week. Vonage offers free calling to UK landlines and cheap rates for calls to mobiles. I'd like to be able to continue doing this via an alternative setup with 3CX.

Vonage also gives me a 'virtual' number in the UK that my friends can call to connect to me in the US (this has proved very useful in the event that they need to reach me in an emergency).

What I'm looking for is a SIP Trunk/VoIP provider service that I can use with 3CX to get the same functionality but at a lower cost than I'm paying right now for Vonage.

Does anyone have any recommendations they can give (for residential use) for alternative solutions?

My sincere thanks in advance

While 3CX may work with an unsupported provider, I would first of all, select your country, from this list...
https://www.3cx.com/partners/voip-providers/

Then browse to the sites of the supported providers, in your country, and compare plans.

Hi @spotlizard, Are you in the US?, While we do not provide the service that you are looking for, my guess is what you want is a local in your country US or whatever Phone number, and a Local UK Phone number. Using a local UK number it would be as if you were in the UK, then it would be a local call for you. AS I am not to sure what SIP provider would be the best for you I agree with @leejor take some time and look at this list. https://www.3cx.com/partners/voip-providers/

I would look to use Voipfone for a UK SIP and register that in with your 3CX. I believe they do call bundles so you can PAYG.
