NFR keys can not be specified as New license key

Hi,

The title says it all really - I'm trying to replace our own phone system license with one of our NFR keys and that's what I get!

So I wondered what the thought process was behind that?

And what do I need to do here to make use of our NFR key - can I get around this in any way? Can I restore from a backup? Or do I need to rebuild our phone system?!

You cannot replace a free/commercial key by a NFR. You will need to backup without FQDN/License, release the FQDN from the current key, then setup your new system with the NFR key and restore the backup during setup. You will be able to set the FQDN again during setup.

Only a commercial key could be used to replace an existing 3CX system. You can back up your existing system and install a new system with your NFR key and restore your backup file during the installation.
