Hi All,

I’ve seen various topics on this but none seem to resolve this issue......

We have an onsite 3CX system running v15.5 Standard. We have 5 x Yealink T42S IP phones. When the main office number is dialled it goes to extension 500 first then to all phones after 6 seconds. We’ve configured Forwarding Rules for ext 500 to divert to ‘Forward to number’ if status is DND but if the office number is dialled we get a number busy tone. The external number being forwarded to is an answering service hosted by people so their number isn’t busy. The same problem occurs if ext 500 diverts to VM if status is set to DND.

I’m sure this is something so obvious but I just cannot see it. Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance for advice.

Kind regards,
Chris.

Why not use Office Hrs to switch the system -

Just remember when you redirect the calls yo your answering service, each incoming call is taking up two of your licenses - one for the incoming and one for the outgoing.

Hi Saqqara,

Many thanks for your reply. The office is closed at random times and sometimes not even open so the usual 9-5 rule wouldn’t work. I believe the 12 month trial licence is for 8 concurrent calls so this shouldn’t be a problem.

Chris.

Hello @ChrisBalaam

How are you switching the phone to DND? Are you using the management console, a 3CX client or a dial code? If you are using a dial code which one are you using?
