i am facing the audio issue from the chrome extension when i call the other party cannot listen my voice but via mobile app everaything working fine. please help me as i have enabled the ports forwarding everything.

Hello,

  1. Run firewall checker first, to ensure it passes all tests on all ports (important)
  2. Uninstall the chrome extension for testing purposes
  3. Refresh browser on webclient page
  4. Ensure you are selecting "Webclient from the dropdown menu on the top right, and not your deskphone (if you have one)
  5. Go to the settings, preferences and ensure the correct audio devices are selected:

You can test call *777 to see if you hear your own voice echo.

Seeing this all the time now especially now users have moved to home working and client only environments.

Seeing what John? No audio issues, or people forgetting to change the device top right? I am having far more failures than successes in getting the Chrome setup to work. Last one was a brand new MacBook Pro, which I couldn't get audio to pass at all.

Seeing what

We are seeing increased amounts of users on Webclient selecting the wrong endpoint in the web client and it is causing negative call results - for example Yealink deskphone is selected (when they are back at home using Smartphone and the Yealink is back in the office).

I think you confused @eddv123 's reply with me

On Macs, you need to grant permissions from the operating system (it's just how Apple does things, it can be annoying I know..)

According to apple support you must do the following:

On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.

  1. Select Microphone (i.e your External Headset if you use one)
  2. Select the checkbox next to an app to allow it to access the microphone (i.e Chrome)
They seem to manage each Mic independently, so the built in mic needs its own permissions, your external headset mic needs it own permissions and so forth for any other headset mics

You can also select your default output to be the headset speakers

On aforesaid 'virgin' MacBookPro 16" on 10.15.latest all the correct security settings are set and yet the web app has no audio at all. The Mac client app works fine though.....

The mac client works differently, so it may still have audio when the webclient doesnt.

Just to be sure, if you log on to that extension using the webclient on a regular PC, can you confirm you get audio? We need to ensure the webclient and ports are working as expected, and then we can look at the mac again.

I don't see the Audio/Video menu, is this new in version 4

What version is your PBX? (as appears on your dashboard Information bpx)

You should update to SP4 then, there should be a pending update if you check now.

The chrome plugin requires update 4 and above

After that update, there will be another one for the Beta SP5 version - you can ignore the beta for now.
