No Ring on Windows Softphone

I just installed the 3CX softphone on my PC and when I call it I get a visual alert to the incoming call but no audible ringtone.

I'm a newbie so I appreciate the help.

If this is a new installation of the client and you haven't tried swapping Wav files for ringtone.wav then I think chances are you need to check local settings on the PC.

For example check the client under - Settings (cog icon) - audio and take a look at the default devices. Is it set to local PC or a headset?

Also more basic settings like the audio on the PC itself and default audio device.

Thanks for the reply. Well it just started working without me doing anything. Now I need to figure out why I can't make outbound calls.

Well first tip, check you have a trunk setup and outbound rule. See:
