Not very happy with 3cx

SO i was trying to find out why my ver 15.6 had no sound when a call was connected i tired everything ports where right , tired a reinstall and a backup still would not work after two days of nothing i desired to install the ver 16 i could not get it to accept my FQDN i had on the older ver so this means it would not install. So i released it and it installed and sound is back working now i have to use a shitty 3cx sub FQDN as well as it gave me another key for a year and then i loose some of the fictions that i had on the old ver eg the call rec the key i had was a key for live now i have this crappy key i dome hope i still have all the fictions i had with my old key when this one runs out and it goes back to stranded. I would like my FQDN back please

Sorry buddy but free versions are subject to changes. You want more features, pay. It's that simple.

I use the free version too, I was using a Pro before. Now I can't record calls or create call queues but that's fine with me.

Also, please know that saying "I want it all free" just shows why 3CX removed these features from the Free edition.

I did not say i wanted it for free all i was saying is i had a perpetual license and the ver i had the audio stopped working and after installing it again it still did not work. So i upgraded to the new ver to test where i lost my perpetual license and it gave me the i year license then it will go to stranded. I was happy with the old ver where i have the call rec and stuff. Funny by upgrading the audio started working again.

If you had a perpetual key without maintenance then by upgrading your key got converted to Annual so you were allowed to upgrade. Without maintenance you cannot upgrade to a newer version using a perpetual key. You can always revert back to V15.5 and keep your perpetual key.
And if you are implying that V15.5 suddenly broke to force you to upgrade let me assure you this is not the case. There are plenty of V15.5 systems out there that function without an issue. Revert back to V15.5 by using your V15.5 backup and if the issue persists open a ticket and we will look into it.

we have 17 3cx 15.5 SP6 systems still in operation because sites are critical and cannot have the downtime to upgrade them yet, and they are still working fine, there is nothing in there to force you forwards.

That being said, if it was a windows server, we have seen several times, windows updates will break 3cx, and/or turn windows firewall back on and to default settings numerous times, causing us to have to reinstall it and restore a backup, perhaps this is your issue. Whatever some of the updates do, they seem to break 3CX such that we have to un-install it, and reinstall it once in a while, or revert the update using system restore....

We always turn windows update off by disabling its services now, and run it manually when scheduled downtime occurs to prevent that from happening.
