Notification on Extension Presence status change

Has anyone found a solution for receiving notification when an extension changes its Presence status (Available, Away, etc.) as it doesn't seem to be built into the Email Notifications, nor as an option on individual extensions? (Yes, I'll be checking 3CX-Ideas next to see if it has been requested.)

I know I can generate a support info zip, download it and use the log viewer to look this up after the fact, but I need something proactively notifying when an extension changes to look into the matter immediately (e.g. like Call Center staff setting their extension away using the mobile or webclient and not their deskphone when they aren't supposed to be on break.)

I'm pretty sure @VoIPTools either has something or could make something (for a fee) for this purpose.

Yes, that would be great if the user was given some type of notification whether it be via an email or visually on the phone.

I have had users changed their status in the web client before they on vacation or will be out of the office, and then when they come back, they can't figure out why they haven't been getting any calls, but see voicemails of "missed" calls. So, i have to explain that you changed your status, and the majority of the time, while talking with them, i go ahead and switch it back for them.

As you noted, 3CX does not keep track of presence changes, nor do they provide any notifications. However, they do generate events that can be captured by the 3CX Call Control API.

Our 3CX Competitive Wallboard tracks tracks presence changes (for reporting) and displays the current presence status. We don't currently send notifications, but we could probably add that capability or build a custom solution for you.
