Hello,

Last time I looked at Azure sync there were a few limitations.

1. You couldn't specify a starting extension. I think it started from 0001.

Looking at this page this looks like it has been improved?

User Sync - 3CX extensions synced from Microsoft 365 are grouped in the 3CX Extension Group called “Azure AD”. A starting extension number may be given, otherwise, the extension will be created from the lowest available extension number in the system. You can specify for the Microsoft “Office phone” number to set the “Outbound Caller ID” for the extension in 3CX.

2. Is is now possible to sync user accounts in a specific group or maybe filter based on something else please? I don't want all users synced. There are a number of shared, service and former staff accounts in azure and it will clutter our 3CX system.

Thanks

Anyone please?

1. Yes, u7 now allows you to set the starting extension.

2. You can always choose which users to sync (All users except these above). It's a manual process, don't think you can filter based on AAD fields, but it's 1 time.

Thanks. We are waiting our licence to be issued so can't see these features as yet.

Does the "Only these users" allow you to select a group please?

Thanks

Not a group, only users in AAD.
I can help you with a license if you need.

Thats a real shame. When you have over 500 users its not practical to select them one by one. If it could be set to a group it would be much easier to manage.

We should be ok thanks. We are just waiting on the seller. The order was only submitted a few days ago.

You have 500 users to exclude? You could go the other way - only include the users you need.
It has a search at the top (both options do) so if your service accounts are named similar you can type a partial in, then select all.

No way to say this without it appearing that I am throwing your current seller under the bus, but that is not my intention...
They can generate a 40 day trial license in 2 minutes, if it took that long.
They can purchase a full license in under 5 minutes.

Either option isn't great. I have inherited a very messy system that we are slowly tidying up. Plus we have lots of accounts of former users (disabled) and then many users who won't be receiving any extension at all.

Even if we had an ideal set up - groups will beneficial. Our onboarding system can create a user, drop them into a group and an extension provisioned without needing to touch 3CX. It could be fully automated this way.

We are finishing for Christmas soon and have other projects they are working on so it hasn't been a major priority. It was me who told them they are good to do it when they have time. Im here just trying to get one step ahead for when we return.

Thanks

I feel your pain on the messy system cleanup. I've been there too many times. Perhaps 3CX will allow group filters in a newer version - I can hope so because it would be useful for us as well.

Good luck with your deployment and feel free to reach out here on the forums if you need any help/guidance.

3CX will help us consolidate systems. We have around 20 phone systems in place at the moment. Some buildings have more than one! Many different telcos using lots of different technology and its a total nightmare!

Thanks for your support. Much appreciated.

Merry Christmas.
