I am able to make VoIP calls using 3cx and other VoIP providers (Right now, VoIPStunt, IdeaSIP, Future9, and Sipgate). I do have the audio driver installed on this computer, however, the audio circuitry is damaged on the motherboard (might this be the problem?) I use Skype on my ThinkPad constantly, and it works great (it's on the same network as the 3cx server). Here's the 3cx firewall checker results:
