All,
New install on version v16 for windows. On prem install. Firewall checker with full cone comes back all good. Windows clients and web clients working with no issues. Initial testing of 1 local desk phone worked. but now with multiple local phones, all are not able to talk(or do touch tones). I have tried the option "PBX Delivers Audio" on server and phones but it still doesn't work. My local desk phones are acting like they need a SBC. Moving 1 desk phone to a different fw/lan makes that phone work. During the install I answered the question "Do you want to address your phones using a local ip or an fqdn?" with fqdn. Could this be causing my issues? How do I change my server to work with local desk phones?
thanks for any help you can provide!

Sounds like you need a Split DNS.

Sorry, I forgot to add the I have tried splitting the DNS to give a internal reply with the server local ip to the fqdn request. I have verified that DNS response to be replying with the local server ip for the fqdn.
thanks

What's your network setup? You talked of VLANs. Explain it more so we can maybe help.

Otherwise, hire someone who knows networking a lot to help you?

No VLans in play now. I have moved server and desk phones to an isolated poe switch and they are also using a dedicated router/firewall. This is now a single local lan connected to a firewall with a static public ip that resolves via fqdn. After the LAN isolation that firewall was tested with the 3cx firewall checker and it passed all tests.

Windows server has only 2 nic which is a local lan IP.

I apologize. Server only has 1 nic. that was a typo on my part.

So, basically, what's the network setup?

If you are on an independent firewall/network for 3CX, did you disable SIP ALG on that router?

from the "phone network" when you ping the fqdn what ip replies, a public or private ip?

is option 66 working on the "phone network".

3cx dashboard > phones > right panel are the phones that are working showing a public ip or a private ip?

Network setup is very plain. 3CX server with 1 nic on local static ip which is able to browse internet wout any issues. Only other clients on this isolated lan are desk phones which all are not able to talk. Firewall is set as default gateway for that lan and it has a static public ip, SIP ALG is disabled. We have 5-10 web browser clients/3cx soft phones that are connecting from the public internet without any issues. My bet is that adding a SBC on this local lan will fix my issues but I would rather fix my config so that I don't have to do that.

If the 3CX is local, an SBC will not do anything else. When you plug a newly resetted (supported) phone on that network, does it appear New in the Phones tab of 3CX?

local fqdn ping replies with local ip address. External fqdn ping replying public ip. Option 66 is not set up on the network. I didn't think that I needed it because my server is seeing the phones wout issue and I am able to assign/provision them.

Yes. It appears in the phones tab. I am able to config options and assign an extension , then phone reboots and lists as the assigned users phone. With ext dial and dial out no one hears that phone's users and that phone is not able to do touch tones in voicemail and other menu prompts.

If you just dial *777, can you hear yourself?

*777 does not work on any local lan desk phone.

This sounds like when a yealink phone is using rtp on a local network and not auto provisioning.

How can I verify that? I have not run into that before? I have been testing on all yealink phones and 1 grandstream. They are all having the same issue.

I am doing PnP auto provisioning on the local lan.

the fact that you get no audio on your local phones and PBX is not normal. Local is local and should work.

If you provision the phone using IP instead of FQDN, does it work?
